The most important terms at a glance

  • Slinger: the person who attaches the lifting gear to the load and hook on the construction site
  • Lifting gear: Suspension gear for connecting the load to the load hook
  • Projection: Distance between the center of the slewing ring (crane) to the center of the load.
  • Slewing ring: establishes the connection between the superstructure and undercarriage on the crane.
  • Hooks: load hooks, hooks on ropes or chain slings
  • Flyjib: Boom extension
  • Crane operator: refers to the driver and operator of the crane in use.
  • Load / lifting goods: the element to be moved / lifted
  • Road closure: required for the use of public traffic areas (for installation and work)
